| Here
are some of my tunes for downloading. It will give you an idea of
the type of stuff coming up on the new record. Some will make the
cut and some won't. Got to wait until it comes out though to hear
the whole song.
This
is an old Tampa Red Tune tune called "You can't get that stuff
no more" that I did with some friends I have been playing with
in Florida. On this cut we have Barry Johnson on guitar, Peter Orifice'
on piano, Mark Potts on drums and Myself on the Steel guitar and
vocals.
"Speculating
Daddy" is an old tune I resurrected and reconstructed last
year in Florida with Barry Johnson on second gutar, and Rick Davidson
on bass guitar.
"Savannah
Mama" comes from from the last CD "Rattle that thing"
I did a while back with Roll and Tumble (Justin Quinn on harp and
Curtis Haynes on piano) in Massachusetts. Got to love the sound
of that Baritone Tricone National guitar!
"Not
long for day" is an old Blind Willie McTell tune that I rearranged
a litte. It was the title track for Roll and Tumble's second record,
so I decided to try a little different take on it. This is with
Barry Johnson and Rick Davidson on Bass.
"Someday
baby", despite what some people claim these days, was actually
written by Sleepy John Estes a long time ago. He wrote a lot of
great tunes that became blues standards. I did a little rearranging
of his tune and have Barry, Mark and Peter on this one also.
Guitars
I played here are all by National Resophonic guitars in San Luis
Obispo. They are a Delphi, a Style O and a Baritone tricone in order
of the songs. Savannah Mama features a Style 1 Tricone. Look for
some more music coming up as I continue to work on my new solo record,
which will also have some Old time clawhammer banjo, six string
banjo and Ukulele. |
